Arriving in Japan at an early age, Malik Ishtar has gone against the norm and grown into his own person. With a penchant for leather, chains, and fishnets, he's become the opposite of your typical young adult.

Evidently, he's determined to bust out his eardrums before he turns thirty - listening to music, particularly of the J-rock variety, is his favorite pasttime. He has a fondness for the likes of Dir en grey and Psycho le Cému; he practically idolizes Lida of the latter, and has taken up the guitar in hopes of someday becoming as talented as him. When he's not studying or rocking out, he's fiddling around with computers - he does major in Computer Applications, after all. He does virtually everything from hacking to writing programs, and even provides tech support for the technologically challenged.

Unfortunately, the stigma of being associated with Marik and Bakura has driven most other people away from him. He really doesn't care, as he feels that most other people aren't worth associating with, though he has been known to socialize with a select few people outside of his own little group, and he doesn't care how it will turn out in the long run, as long as he's happy.
